About PNR Status Check

PNR (Passenger Name Record) is a unique 10-digit number assigned to every train ticket booking in India. This number serves as your booking reference and contains all information about your journey including passenger details, train information, seat/berth allocation, and current booking status.

Understanding PNR Status Codes

CNF (Confirmed): Your seat is confirmed with specific coach and berth/seat number assigned.
RAC (Reservation Against Cancellation): You have a confirmed seat but may share it initially.
WL (Waitlisted): Your ticket is on waiting list. The number indicates your position in queue.
CAN (Cancelled): Booking was cancelled. Refund will be processed automatically.

How to Check Your PNR Status

  1. Enter your 10-digit PNR number in the search box above
  2. Click the "Check Status" button
  3. View your complete booking details including current status, coach, berth, and journey information
  4. Check back regularly if you're on waitlist to see if your ticket gets confirmed

When to Check PNR Status

  • After Booking: Verify all details are correct immediately after booking
  • For Waitlisted Tickets: Check daily, especially 2-3 days before journey
  • Before Journey: Check final status after chart preparation (4 hours before departure)
  • During Journey: Verify your details match the ticket for TTE verification

Note: PNR status updates multiple times daily as passengers cancel tickets. Waitlisted tickets have good chances of confirmation, especially if the waitlist number is low. Always check your PNR status before starting your journey to avoid any confusion.
